SOSi Recognized As “Military Friendly Employer”

RESTON, Va. (October 21, 2019) – SOS International LLC (SOSi) announced today that it earned a spot on the “2020 Military Friendly®” list released by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that rates companies on their success recruiting and retaining military veteran employees (www.militaryfriendly.com).

The Military Friendly® program creates civilian opportunities for veterans. By setting a standard, promoting it and raising the bar over time, it provides long term, positive reinforcement for American organizations to invest in programs that improve the lives of veterans. It’s about creating demand for veterans in the private sector. In 2003, the number of organizations that competed for Military Friendly® designation was around 20; today, that number is approximately 2,000. EY, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, independently tests the validity and consistency of each year’s survey results by testing the scoring methodology developed by VIQTORY. Methodology reviews are performed by the EY Assurance Services unit.

The Military Friendly® designation is given when a company demonstrates commitment, effort, and—most importantly—success in “creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community,” according to the organization. The program identifies companies with a “commitment to serving the military and veteran community [that] is comprehensive in scope and meaningful in terms of actual outcomes and impact.”

SOSi has always put a strong emphasis on hiring veterans, which today represent more than 25% of its total workforce.

“Veterans play a vital role at SOSi,” said Julian Setian, SOSi President & CEO. “They not only provide the experience and technical talent we need to better serve our customers, they provide the leadership skills we’d be hard pressed to find in private industry alone. I’m proud to work alongside so many of them, and hope that earning this designation attracts more service men and women to the SOSi team.”
