SOS International LLC (SOSi) announced today that it has been named as an “Industry Innovator” for its engineering of the Department of Defense (DoD) Mission Partner Environment (MPE) under a contract with the U.S. Air Force and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The honor was given to SOSi as part of this year’s Government Innovation Awards, presented in partnership by Federal Computer Week, Government Computing News, Washington Technology, and Defense Systems. The awards celebrate projects, individuals, and companies that help transform government IT.
The objective of the MPE program is to build secure, robust, and flexible multi-enclave cloud-based mission environments in which combatant commanders can securely communicate and share information in a standard operating framework with their allied, coalition, and bilateral partners. SOSi uses innovative hyper-converged infrastructure and private cloud architectures to provide a seamless system for unique command, control, intelligence, and information-sharing requirements. The SOSi MPE team has organized all of these available capabilities into a robust Service Catalog to solve several component command challenges.
“To develop interoperable MPE solutions for our customers, our engineers integrated commercial-off-the-shelf technologies to replace numerous computers with single, powerful, zero-maintenance devices,” said Ed Bachl, SOSi’s Senior Vice President for Defense and Intelligence Solutions. “Rather than configuring a computer for each partner nation, our MPE team is providing DoD mission partners with single devices that provide simultaneous access to any enclave the user is cleared to access.”
“I’m proud of our MPE team for pioneering a leading-edge capability that enhances collaboration and situational awareness on the battlefield,” said Julian Setian, SOSi President and CEO. “This recognition sets the stage for our pursuit of the $10 billion follow-on Mission Partner C2 and Intelligence Sharing Capabilities Air Force contract in 2021.”
SOSi’s MPE program is also a WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award finalist for “Government Team Project of the Year.” WashingtonExec will announce its Pinnacle Award winners on 12 November.
