Excellence in Action
Supporting the Executive Office for Immigration Review
Since 2015, SOSi has provided interpretation services to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). To support DOJ’s massive efforts, SOSi provides interpretation, sight, and document translation services at immigration court proceedings throughout all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. EOIR currently administers over 120 court locations housing more than 400 immigration judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Judges conduct hearings in these courts to resolve various immigration proceedings and approximately 300,000 are heard annually.
Providing Language Services on the Front Lines
Since 2001, SOSi has provided direct simultaneous and consecutive interpretation support to our forces deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. SOSi interpreters operate throughout the theaters of operation, sometimes in austere conditions, to ensure the success of mission by deployed international forces. In addition to interpretation, SOSi interpreters provide the cultural and ethnic context of interpretations and advice to users on the cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, and situations.
