Managing & Maintaining Critical Infrastructure on U.S. Air Force Bases

The U.S. Air Force challenged SOSi to provide a single, common management, maintenance, and repair services solution for two bases located on opposite sides of the world. Despite the differences in location and size, our teams developed a long-range logistics, asset management, lodging, and help desk support solution to meet the respective needs of those stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL and Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. The bases are vastly different. For example, MacDill AFB is located on a 15-acre site in a tropical climate and hosts approximately 5,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, DoD civilians, contractors, and visitors. Meanwhile, Al Udeid Air Base is located on a 60 plus acre site in an arid desert environment and hosts several hundred Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, and contractors.

Despite the drastic differences in the two locations, SOSi developed a largely successful 24×7 operations and maintenance schedule to meet the respective needs of those stationed at each location. We also worked closely with the Government of Qatar, which leases the base to the U.S. government, to ensure we remained in compliance with all base assess rules and requirements. Our contract performance has drawn high praise and recognition from our U.S. Air Force customer and is a testament to the teams we have operating and maintaining each base location.
