History

SOSi has experienced rapid growth and diversification throughout its history. 

Founded in 1989, SOSi has grown organically to almost a thousand personnel operating around the world.  Our key corporate milestones are reflected below:

1989 - 
Founded in New York City with financing from a small, personal bank loan, in order to provide contract interpretation services to the federal and state courthouses in and around the New York metropolitan region.
1992 - 
Awarded first Blanket Purchase Agreement by the New York Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide translation and analysis to services in support of its Title III investigative programs.
1994 - 
Business expanded to include several other DEA field offices around the country, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Customs Service.
1997 - 
Awarded first competitive prime contract by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide translation, analysis and IT services in the National Capital Region.
2002 - 
Awarded first competitive prime contract by the Department of Defense to provide specialized consulting and analytical services to the Special Operations Command.
2002 - 
Awarded subcontract by Bersoff Technology Group, Inc. (BTG) to provide contract linguist services to the U.S. military in the Middle East and Central Asia, rapidly making us one of the largest providers of cleared contract linguists to the Federal Government.
2004 - 
Awarded subcontract by CACI to provide contract intelligence analytical services to the U.S. Military in Iraq.
2006 - 
Awarded $70 million competitive prime contract by the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) Intelligence Directorate to stand up a global foreign media watch center in support of the Department of Defense, as well as a $200 million competitive prime contract to provide specialized open source collection, analysis and reporting by the U.S. Military in Iraq.
2008 - 
Awarded $55 million competitive prime contract by the U.S. Army in Europe (USAREUR) Intelligence Directorate to meet all of its outsourced intelligence analysis and systems engineering requirements in Europe and Africa.
 2009 - Awarded subcontract by Lockheed Martin to join its team for the U.S. Navy Counterterrorism Technology Program Office (CNTPO) program, accompanied by two competitively awarded task orders to stand up, operate and manage the Counter-Narcotics, Customs and Border Management Training Academies for the Afghan Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Finance in Afghanistan.
  2013 - Awarded an $85 million prime contract by the U.S. Air Force to perform airfield infrastructure construction and engineering work in Iraq.
  2014 - Formed Board of Advisors to assist in the company’s organic growth, acquisitions and professionalization.
  2015 - Awarded prime contracts, valued in excess of $400 million, to provide life support, sustainment and logistics services in support of thousands of U.S. and Coalition troops in Iraq.
  2016 - SOSi completes its first acquisition, adding New World Solutions (NWS) to its portfolio of expanding intelligence solutions. NWS deepens SOSi’s work within the Intelligence Community and adds new clients, including the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
